**End of Year Awards Program**


LONG TERM GOAL:
To acknowledge the work and preparation of an owner in showing their horses.
Any current paid Youth and Amateur member of the ECMHC will be in consideration for year end
awards.  You do not have to sign up for them starting this year.  

ECMHC will use points from the following 2018 shows:
ECMHC Spring Fling AMHA/AMHR/ASPC/PtHA  (April 20 – 22, 2018)
ODMHC Spring Thaw AMHA/AMHR/ASPC  (May 17 – 20, 2018)
ECMHC Summer Classic AMHA/AMHR/ASPC/PtHA  (June 22 – 24)

AWARD DIVISIONS
(Youth Division)
Youth 12 & under A & B
Youth 13 – 18 A & B
Youth Performance A & B
Novice Youth 18 & under – Must not have won more than five first place awards in sanctioned
AMHA or AMHR shows.
(Amateur Division)
Amateur Halter Stallions   A & B
Amateur Halter Mares A & B
Amateur Halter Geldings   A & B
Amateur Performance A & B
Novice Amateur – Must not have won more than five first place awards in sanctioned AMHA or
AMHR shows.

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
The Community Service Award will be given to the member who receives the most points
participating in community service activities with their miniature equine partner with the following
point scale:
Nursing home visits , School or Daycare visits, Therapeutic Riding Center visits – 8 points
Church Function, Parades or Demos – 5 points
Newspaper or Magazine Article – 5 points    If the article mentions ECMHC – bonus 5 points.
Dates of participation for the CSA will run from September 1, 2017 through August 31, 2018.
Participants must forward to Karen Hunter: copy of newspaper or magazine article; acknowledgement
from the facility, or dated parade pictures.

AWARDS
Awards will be given for Champion, Reserve Champion and 3rd through 6th place in each division.

ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
Youth
Exhibiting members must meet all requirements of AMHA and AMHR Youth rules.  Points may be
earned in any youth class in which the exhibiting youth member shows the horse.  The award will be
given for a one horse/one exhibitor combination.
Amateur
Exhibiting members must meet all requirements of AMHA and AMHR Amateur rules.  Points may be
earned in any amateur class in which the exhibiting member shows the horse.  The award will be
given for a one horse/one exhibitor combination.

High Point Youth  or Amateur – 25 points

GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES
1.  Eligibiltiy
     A.        The exhibitor must be a paid member in good standing with the ECMHC.
     B.        Membership dues must be paid before any points will count. (Must be paid before the
                     first class shown)
2.  Horse Ownership
     A.        Amateurs may lease horses.  If leased, a lease agreement must be on file with AMHA or
                     AMHR/ASPC with a copy of the lease with show entries.
     B.        Points are non transferable.
3.  Scoring of points
     A.        In the event of a tie in any division, the tie will be broken by, declaring as the winer, the
                     horse or member who won the highest number of points at ECMHC Spring Fling,
                     showing in that division.
4.  Awards
     A.        Announcement of the winners and awards will be at the annual winter meeting.
     B.        If any dispute should arise, the decision of the board will be final.
